We have come a long way. This month marks the one year anniversary of this blog already!
When I found the cover photo above, I thought it was perfect for the purpose of this entry. I hadn’t thought much about this blog site lately simply because we’ve been so busy. Don’t get me wrong, I have had a desire to write something throughout this short “drought”. In addition, things have changed in our life and I was struggling with the corresponding change of topics. Take this blog for instance.
Looking back over the past year, this blog has attempted a transition. We incorporated our CaringBridge reports which provided daily (and sometimes hourly) health updates. And we began a new course of emotional healing as well as support for others. All along, we’ve shed tears of pain as well as joy (I’m shedding a few now as I write this). Some of you have shared with us your own stories, and how much this blog has meant to you. For that, we are so very thankful! We continue to adapt and find ourselves in another transition following the charity golf outing, one that calls us to be more proactive and to assist others.
This photo seemed to capture perfectly the view going forward into a picturesque landscape, and with it the idea of the journey that is laid before us. Yet, it may also represent a view out of the rear window to the miles we have already traversed. (Jokingly, if this is a rear-view, then I’m on the wrong side of the highway and bigger and more immediate problems to worry about!)
An entire year is now in the (digital) books, and this blog represents the ups and downs we have experienced during that time. I am glad we decided to log our journey along the way. Every now and then, I re-read some of our entries and reflect; upon what we endured, the gifts that presented themselves in odd packages, the sprinkles of Grace, the raw emotions, the pain and the triumphs. I will never regret having taken the time to write those thoughts down. To that end, we will aim to continue adding our thoughts on life and a variety of other things as well as our efforts to improve the lives of those around us.
Anyway, this rambling entry eventually needs to come to an end so until next time, thank you for your prayers and for following along. We couldn’t do this without you.
