Thanks-for-giving

gratitude

This week I found myself saying a prayer of thanks for the experiences we faced with Jacob.

An outsider might ask how in the world we could ever be thankful for losing a child. Suffice it to say, the gut-wrenching experience brought us closer to God and His mercies. When we ponder His forgiveness – His Grace – it is in that moment I realize that our loss is not forever. And what a true joy that is! This experience has actually strengthened our faith and trust in God; it has brought us closer. And for that, I am eternally thankful.

Please don’t let your walk with God falter such that a tragedy is necessary to bring you back together. Enjoy your present sufferings and blessings as ways in which He works in you and through you. Then, share that joy with your family, friends and strangers. Don’t let even a moment slip by that you fail to recognize His impact in your life, or how you can impact others with His love.

Happy Thanksgiving!
