This is the day the Lord has made…

…Let us rejoice and be glad in it! (Psalm 118:24)

And what a beautiful day we had for the 5th annual “Walk to Remember” in honor of our little angel(s) with our friends and families.

On Saturday, October 13, 2018, our family met for our traditional breakfast of Champions (donuts and coffee) before setting out to meet up with other families who have loved such tiny gifts from God and are now honoring these little ones. The “Walk” is a great opportunity for community support and love. We all experienced many emotions that day – joy, sadness, hope and gladness.

The committee that organizes this event does a fantastic job! They make sure to include something to do for all ages of attendees such as:

  • information for support while going thru the entire process of the various stages a family goes through with a birth and loss of a child;
  • chalk for sidewalk drawing which allows families to express their love for their angel baby (babies);
  • note cards to be placed on a banner that leads the walk;
  • hot chocolate to warm us up on such a chilly morning;
  • cupcakes and many other snacks for fun nourishment; and I could go on.

After touching testimonials and poems, Christian music and fellowship, we all take off for our walk around beautiful Huntertown park! We even had the chance to see Nurses and Respiratory Therapists who attended to our little Jacob. What a joyous reunion!

At the conclusion of the walk, we are provided balloons to write messages to our loved ones to send off to the heavenly sky above. As we watch our balloons float to the heavens we are quickly reminded of Apostle Paul’s words:

Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. – Romans 12:15

But the Apostle John expresses the greatest hope we cling to:

He (God) will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning and crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. – Revelation 21:4

God is good ALL the time!

Thank you to the Committee Members for “Walk to Remember” for your continued love and support to our families!
