A 5 year old girl, with an incurable and painful disease, was given the option by her parents to choose Heaven (remain at home without treatment) or the hospital. She unequivocally chose Heaven. The conversation recalled by her mother as they discussed this option is priceless for any Christian parent. And frankly, the faith this little girl showed at such a young age rivals that of a learned theologian. THIS is why it is so important for us parents to begin the process of faith formation in our children at the very beginning. This isn’t some fairy tale or whimsical, magical fantasy we tell them about. This is the story of their salvation and eternity.

I selfishly note (as a parent who has experienced similar loss) that the girl’s decision, and the outcome of that decision, is likely far easier for her parents to accept because of her faith.
